I saw two movies in the same week. The Rising and My wifes Murder. Being a die hard fan of Aamir, I have been waiting for this movie and hence saw it first. After watching the movie, I came out feeling probably nothing. The only thing that touched my heart was the plight of the poor hindu women in those era, being forced to sit on the funeral pyre of their dead husband, even being held there by the long sticks of the on lookers, in case she decides to run away from the heat and the undesirous death. I couldnt get any of the feeling on Aamir's role that I enjoyed in Lagaan and Dil Chahta hai. Like in the case of having a tea, where one is not satisfied with the tea because it was either cold, or not upto the taste one expected it to be, you go for another cup. Hence I went to see My Wife's Murder and came out with the feeling of having had a better cup of tea. Perhaps I need to see The Rising once more, in English ( I had watched the Hindi version) to really identify the finer aspects of the movie.
Those who havent seen MWMurder, I recommend it, especially for the way it is directed and a class character protrayed by Boman Irani.
